It’s no secret around here that I love supporting small businesses. My first job was actually in small business development and entrepreneurship, and it’s what led me to start this blog. One of my favorite posts I write each year is for Small Business Saturday. This year, it means a little bit more.
You may recognize some of the names in this post as companies that I regularly collaborate with. I’m so thankful that this little corner of the internet has allowed me to connect and spark friendships with such impressive, dedicated, talented small business owners.
Rosewater Designs Jewelry
Lauren’s jewelry designs are my favorite. She is so talented, and all of her pieces turn me into the heart eye emoji. She has done some incredible, custom pieces for me, and I’m always impressed by how reasonable her prices are. Her products always arrive packaged beautifully.
If you’re looking to bundle this into a gift set, I’d recommend a cute jewelry stand or a trinket tray depending on your budget.
Wander & Explore Maps
You may remember the giveaway I did with Wander & Explore Maps in October! Since then, I’ve added their scratch off world map to my collection. Why do I think this is such a great gift? Talk of a Covid vaccine has me optimistic that travel will look and feel much more normal in 2021. People will be looking to make up for lost time. These scratch off maps are a beautiful way to chronicle and display your travels.
If you’re looking to bundle this into a gift set, I’d pair it with a luggage tag, passport cover, or even some international candies.
Piper & Leaf
Piper & Leaf is a family run tea company based in Alabama. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best tea I’ve ever had… and I’ve been fortunate to try teas from all over the world. My favorite is the caramel apple pie flavor, and I like to make it using the Piper Press Brew Kit (that’s currently on sale!). I definitely have this on my gift list for a couple of different people 😊
If you’re looking to bundle this into a gift set, I’d choose a cute mug or a sleek tumbler.
Augusta Joy Stationery
I ordered personalized notecards from Augusta Joy Stationery at the beginning of quarantine. Someone gave me a gift, and I didn’t have any thank you notes. Practically any face-to-face contact I had in my career and volunteer activities has gone virtual, and I love having the ability to follow up with a handwritten note.
Side note: you can find the same company on Amazon under Flair Necessities. The pricing is a little cheaper on Etsy; if you sign up for coupons, you can save significantly on the brand’s actual website.
If you’re looking to bundle this into a gift set, I’d pair it with some fabulous pens. These are my favorite, but these are super fun.
Kristyn W Art
My friend Kristyn is such a talented artist, focusing on watercolor & gouache originals. She recently created a set of three custom pieces for me to give as a gift, and I am obsessed! Her work is thoughtful and beautiful, and I can’t wait to own a piece for myself.
I feel that art is a great gift on it’s own. If you’re not super familiar with someone’s home decor, buying frames can be hard. If you choose to take the framing route, I’d choose this frame with big white mats or one of these clear glass floating frames.
Petappear
I won a giveaway and was fortunate enough to receive a custom portrait of Willie. I am in love with the portrait she did of my little girl, and custom pup portraits are going to a lot of my friends this year. (And also some coffee mugs with Willie photos for family members.)
Marina emailed me the file, and I had it printed on to a wood block via Walgreens photo. She now has a full service website so that you can actually order products through it.
If you’d like to pair this with something, some goodies for your friend’s fur child could be a great option. Willie loves this toy and these treats.
Megan Coonelly Art
Megan’s Hail Mary was the first true piece of art that I purchased for myself, a gift to myself for getting promotion. Her artwork is bright, funky, and always makes me smile. She’s a badass momma to two toddler twins, I really do not know how she does it all.
I wouldn’t recommend pairing Megan’s art with anything. She does mostly canvases and sculptures, so I’d just wrap the box it arrives in and call it a day! (But definitely use funky paper.)
The Golden Slipper
The Golden Slipper is a cute little boutique located in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood. It’s owned by influencer Abby Moore and every inch of the store is Instagrammable. It’s one of those stores where you have to do a few laps because there are so many good things, and if you blink you might miss something.
There are so many cute goodies that it’s hard to recommend what to pair an item with, but I can confidently recommend checking out their card selection. So cheeky and fun!
Thanks for taking the time to check out some of my favorite small businesses! I’d love to learn more about the small businesses you frequent, either in the comments section or via social. (I’m @seersuckersass across the board 😊)
