Last Monday morning was rough. I decided that scheduling an escape room with my brother and his friends at 8:40 PM was a great idea for a Sunday night. The thing that saved me the most was having a routine built around my morning essentials. I’ve found that having a routine (and keeping it simple) has helped me to become slightly more of a morning person. Being organized not only saves me time, but also helps me get out the door in less of a rush and feeling less frazzled. My morning essentials truly help me start not just my mornings, but my week off on a great foot.
Caffeine Whether its a cup of green tea when I get to the office or stopping for iced coffee, my day always starts with caffeine. My doctor has recommended no caffeine after noon to help with my sleep, so I’ve limited myself to one beverage each morning. Relying on one cup of coffee to get me through a day has made caffeine more of a morning essential than before!
CHI Paint Party 1″ Flat Iron (c/o) I’m still playing with my new haircut, and I’m having a lot of fun figuring it out. I’ve been wearing my hair with natural texture the first day, then straightening daily until I wash it. With this flat iron, I can straighten my whole head in around four minutes! I love the adjustable temperature and quick heat up time.
Five Minute Face This takes me from zombie to awake in less than five minutes. I switch the products out on occasion; I’m currently using this eyeliner, this for my brows, and this in place of my lash primer. I’ve also thrown this lip product into my rotation.
Storage Trays I know this probably sounds strange, but bear with me. In my old place, I was guilty of having a bathroom counter that appeared to be the site of a Sephora explosion. I now use plastic trays to separate the items I use on a daily basis. When I pull the skincare tray out of my cabinet, I know I have exactly what I need. Same with the hair product tray and the fragrance tray. The organization that this provides honestly probably saves me an hour a week. (PS – You can get these at the Dollar Tree for $1!)
And that’s it! Pretty short and sweet, right? Does this mean I’m low maintenance? 😉
What are your morning essentials?
Plastic trays are key for organization! I love how organized they make under my sink look!

Aren’t they the best?! Happy Monday!
Girl, I love that lash primer! I don’t use anything on my brows but I need to try new pencils 🙂

Isn’t it the best?! I love the Anastasia pencil!
You are way more low-maintenance in the morning than I am – I need to perfect a five minute face so that I’m not so rushed in the mornings!
