If you follow along with me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed my recent penchant for hair accessories. I’m all about changing my look up, and I’ve noticed that adding a hair accessory adds a touch of “polish.” Instead of a boring ponytail, I love a tortoise hair elastic. When my hair is looking flat, I can embrace the flatness by throwing on a head wrap. And don’t even get me started on rhinestone barrettes and scrunchies. This former Limited Too shopper cannot get enough!
Below are a few of my favorite finds! Of the ten items below, I own six of them, and the other four are on my wishlist. The best part? They’re all under $10!
Black Braided Knot Head Wrap ($9) // Scarf Print Headwrap ($4) // Twist-Front Striped Headwrap ($5)
Tortoise Hair Elastic ($3) // Metallic Glitter Snap Clips ($2) // Starburst Bobby Pins ($8)
Pack of 5 Scrunchies ($9) // Tortoise Circle Barrette ($6)
Rhinestone Snap Hair Clips ($10) // Navy Knitted Head Wrap ($9)
When I purchased head wraps for the first time, I was a woman on a mission. I scoured Ulta’s hair accessories aisle multiple times, pacing between the aisle and the closest mirror I could find. I settled on three wraps, including the black braided knot wrap and a black knitted head wrap. The braided knot wrap wasn’t the comfiest, I would recommend wearing it for a formal event or an occasion where it wouldn’t be on your head for the duration of a workday. However, the knitted head wrap was so comfy that I later ordered it off of Amazon in Navy!
Speaking of Amazon, I discovered that most of the Kitsch brand products I bought at Ulta were about $3 cheaper on Amazon, plus Prime Eligible.

After realizing what a difference a good hair wrap could make, I started fishing through my bathroom drawers to see what other goodies were hanging around. I rediscovered my stash of Kitsch scrunchies, a tortoise hair elastic, and a tortoise barrette. Honest thoughts as follows: Scrunchies are awesome. I wear them with or without another hair elastic and I wrap them around my bun. Tortoise hair elastic is tricky at first because you want to align it correctly. Once you get past the learning curve, it is a staple and instantly adds a touch of polish to even the most basic ponytail. Tortoise barrettes are great if you have a lot of hair. I have a similar one from the same brand, and I struggle because while I have a lot of hair, it is very fine, and the barrette just slides right out.
This weekend I picked up the scarf print headwrap and twist-front striped headwrap from Forever 21. The scarf print one looks a little cheap super up close, but I really wanted a silk scarf-esque one, and it was only $4. The twist-front striped wrap looks more high end, and I purchased it to have another navy option.

My next purchase will be snap hair clips. I never really stopped using them (did any of us?!), but I’m excited to add some sparkly, extra pieces to my collection of drab brown clips that I previously only used to help hold my top knots up.
I want to know – what is your favorite accessory?!
Oh my gosh all of these are SO cute. I don’t opt for hair accessories all that often but I am totally feeling the way you styled that turban so I may have to give them another shot!
