Happy Thursday, y’all! It’s been a while, and I’m really thankful for this opportunity to catch up. Let’s get right to it!
Drink of choice – Cold pressed juice! My aunt gave me this juicer for Christmas, and I’ve been burning it up.
101 in 1001 update – I’m making progress! I’ve completed four items on the list, and I’m on track to complete at least three more by the end of the quarter. It has been really fun to challenge myself and try new things, and I’m quite content with my decision to do this over creating a resolution. Something that I didn’t expect was how much support I would receive – I’ve had multiple people read my list and offer to help me achieve certain things. I am in awe of how genuinely kind people can be.
Travel – Nothing much going on at the moment. I took my first business trip of the year a few weeks ago, and I’m gearing up to go to Memphis at the end of the month! I don’t have much time to explore on my own, but if you’ve been before, please send me your recommendations!
Celebrating – In our last coffee chat – all the way back in October – I shared that my brother was being recruited to run track by three Ivy League schools and Duke. On his 18th birthday, he committed to run at Yale! I could not be prouder of him.
Also, if you remember me asking for prayers in November because I was applying for a program – I GOT IN! I’ll share more when it is complete in April, but I wanted to let y’all know, especially so I could say THANK YOU for the prayers and positive vibes you sent my way.
Health & Wellness – I have six weeks left in the LIVESTRONG program! Not only am I seeing major changes with my body, but I feel so much more confident when I walk into the gym. I’m no longer intimidated by the machines, I know a little bit about free weights, and I survived a spin class. I’m looking forward to our graduation event, but I’m going to miss my group and trainer immensely.
I’ve also hopped on board the celery juice train! It has noticeably helped with the inflammation in my gut and is making my hair grow and my nails stronger. I’ll do a full post soon, so if you have any questions, send them my way and I’ll be sure to cover them.
Reading – My first book of 2019 was People Like Us. I would give it a 3.5/5. (I challenged myself to read more than just chick lit, so young adult fiction was a little out of my wheelhouse. I think I would have enjoyed it more otherwise.) I’m currently reading The One Thing, which was recommended by my younger brother, and My Year of Rest and Relaxation.
Recent favorites :
- This bubble scalp mask from Kristin Ess is incredible for those of us who don’t wash our hair every day and rely on dry shampoo. I never knew my roots and scalp could be so clean!
- Aquaphor has been my saving grace during this cold weather. It also magically makes my lips look fuller, which I don’t understand but am totally cool with.
- I’m streamlining my five-minute face and this Mally Shadow Stick eliminates a brush from the process. I draw it on my crease and lash line, then blend over it with a gold shadow.
That is more than enough about me… please tell me what’s new with you! I’d love to chat in the comments.
Happy almost weekend!
