Happy New Year, y’all! Its that time of year where social media is flooded with “new year, new me” posts and lots of resolutions. I think it’s great! There’s nothing like a new year to really light a fire within us (or under us) and jump-start those goals. As someone who is obsessed with self-improvement, I took a different approach to resolutions this year. Today I’m introducing my 101 in 1001 list!
What is it? A 101 in 1001 list is 101 goals to be completed in 1001 days. In my case, it will run from today, January 1, 2019, to September 28, 2021. In a lot of ways, this list kind of feels like my big hurrah. I’ll be in my 30’s when it ends, at a point where I’ll be thinking about babies and permanent things like that. So I’m viewing it as my opportunity to be selfish and put myself first.
You may have noticed that the “personal” section has the most goals; that was very intentional. I’ve spent the past three years heavily involved in a volunteer organization and have spent almost all of my free time serving the organization in one way or another. It’s been rewarding, and I’m ready to catch up on quite a few things that I’ve missed.
So… here it is! If you see a goal that overlaps with one of your goals, let’s chat! And if you have any recommendations, please share those too. I love getting y’all’s input.

I’ve seriously considered doing a 101 in 1001 but the long timeline combined with my short attention span has me discouraged haha! I love your goals – good luck with all of these!

I have the same concern, so I’ve been trying to chart out when some of them will happen and kind of take it month by month 🙂 Thank you for the support!
I just love reading these lists-they’re always so inspiring! I want to see Hamilton too-the show is coming to Atlanta this year & I’m dying to get my hands on tickets. Also, if you ever make a trip to Alabama I’d be more than happy to teach you how to can and how to ride a horse-I do both on a regular basis, haha!

If you go, I want to hear all about it! You are the absolute best!! I hope work takes me to Alabama soon so I can take you up on that, and we can finally meet 🙂
Get it girlllll!! This is amazing! I love the idea of long term goals, I personally set more short term goals because I have trouble staying motivated when something seems to far away – I can’t wait to watch your journey here!

Thank ya, lady! It will definitely be interesting to see how it plays out. I enjoy short term too… it’s so satisfying to check something off of a list 🙂 Happy New Year!!
ahh so many good ones!! I can’t wait to see how your journey unfolds! I love the 101 in 1001 but it overwhelms me haha!!
Author
Thank you, lady! I’m a little overwhelmed too, but in a good way 🙂
i love this idea! i also don’t blame you for wanting to be selfish and focus on yourself before you consider starting a family. it’s not selfish and i think it’s so important to focus on doing what you want and love!

Thank you! I appreciate the support 🙂
REading 35 books is a lofty goal! I’m just trying to read the ones that have been sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
Woohoo! I see my name on this list 😉 So exciting to see what you accomplish in the next 1001 days.
Author
Of course! Thanks for being so supportive 🙂
I didn’t learn to ride a bike until I was like 8 when all my friends learned at 6.. I’m a slow learner haha.
Author
By that point, I had given up! Haha. Nothing wrong with learning at your own pace 🙂
Wow, just putting together a list like that would be one of my goals! Haha. Good for you. I was surprised to see you don’t know how to ride a bike?! Cheering you on 🙂

Make it goal number one on your list and cross that baby off! Haha. I know, its crazy! I’m learning this spring though. I didn’t have good balance as a kid, and eventually my parents let me give up because I kept wrecking into the same tree in my front yard over and over and over. Fingers crossed that its easier as an adult!
I really like the 101 in 1001 days, gives me a better chance of getting goals done. haha This is a pretty sweet list.

I liked the exercise of long term planning and not having to feel so rushed to complete a goal. Thank you!!
Nice! These are some amazing goals – I want to land a campaign that pays my rent, too! Also, I think having my aura read would be a fun one as well.

I love these lists! I have a bucket list also but I’m debating making a 20 before 2020 list to go through this year. I love how intentional you were with picking more personal goals. I think they are all really great! I can’t wait to see what progress you make — I hope you share updates on your blog/IG!
