Does anyone else get stressed out by their pores? My pores are just gross. (Well, all pores are gross when you think about what their job is – excretion of fluids, oil, and sweat. Fun!) When my pores get gross, I feel the need to give myself extractions, which is satisfying in the short term, but ultimately does more harm than good. So I’ve been trying different products that help unclog and shrink pores. I’ve tried quite a few, and I’ve narrowed it down to my top four to share with y’all today!
Mario Badescu Silver Powder • This mask is high maintenance, but I’ve never experienced results from a mask like I have from this one. If you have contacts, I highly recommend taking them out before using this. You apply powder to your face using a wet cotton ball, and the powder can make a bit of a mess. After removing the product, you will see immediate results. I don’t recommend using this the day before a big event, as my skin is usually a little red the morning after using this, but if you used it two days before an event, you’ll be good to go!
Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer • This product doesn’t shrink pores, but it does help to camouflage them under makeup. It’s oil free and the texture is a matte balm. I use this on the pores around my nose, on my nose, and on my chin. (It also keeps my skin from getting shiny in those places!) A little bit goes a long way, which is why I’m still using a sample. You can purchase it in three different sizes, and prices range from $12-$49.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Mask (c/o) • This sucks all of the grossness out of your skin, including clogged pores and excess oil, and also shrinks your pores. My skin glows after use. Despite having the texture of mud, this mask is extremely invigorating. It’s a little chunky, I usually rinse it off over the tub.
Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser • If you only purchase one of these products, this should be it. I received a sample of this as a gift with purchase, and it worked unlike any product that I had ever used before; the results were even more noticeable than a mask. After one use, my pores were the tiniest I’ve ever seen them! I prefer this product because it’s a cleanser; instead of fussing with a mask, I can just swap out my usual cleanser with this.
