Happy Monday, friends! I know everyone is all about fall, but it’s still in the 90’s here, so I’m sneaking in one last minute summer look before I share a fall transition post. Despite the fact that I glisten profusely and almost melt every time I step outside for longer than 60 seconds, I know that fall is on it’s way. I drove my little brother to school this morning, and there was such a chill in the air that I was digging through packed away clothes for a sweatshirt to throw on!
In the meantime, I’m enjoying wearing little cotton dresses like this Marlowe dress from Lilly Pulitzer. When I say these are the perfect dresses, I mean it. This is the fifth Marlowe I’ve purchased, because I can legitimately wear them for anything and everything. They’re long sleeved, but the fabric is light and breezy. I wear them to work, but I also throw them on to run errands, as a pool cover up, to my brother’s sporting events, out on the boat, you name it! They’re comfy and always highly complimented. Cost wise, they come in at the lower end of Lilly Pulitzer dresses at $98, and the cost per wear is really great on them.
This was a weekend of celebrations, and I actually wore this dress on Saturday as part of them! Friday we found out that my mom passed her real estate tests, and she begins her “side hustle” of selling real estate in the near future. She has wanted to do this since before I was born, so I’m so proud of her for following that dream. I’m thankful for a mom that reminds me over and over again that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams!
Saturday was my little brother’s “almost” Sweet 16 pool party, which is where I wore this dress. Nothing like spending time with a bunch of high schoolers to remind you of how uncool and irrelevant you are! Following the pool party, I changed into a little black dress and headed over to my co-worker’s wedding. It was at a local mansion with the reception following in the picnic pavilion, and it was absolutely gorgeous. I appreciated the fact that the programs were fans and that tin tubs of water were there as you walked into both the outdoor wedding and the reception.
Continuing with the celebrations, I sent out my first blog newsletter yesterday! If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so here. It’s going to be one email a week at maximum (sometimes less if I’m traveling), and it will be content that’s not on the blog. This week’s email was about getting back to my roots when it comes to blogging, and also trying to gauge what y’all actually want to read about. (Seriously, send any feedback my way! I’m all ears!)
I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start with strong coffee and positive vibes. What’s something you’re excited about this week?
PS – Shout out to my aunt for taking these gorgeous photos for me in her little backyard paradise!
