I had every intention of posting yesterday. I had this really cute little Lilly Pulitzer dress from the After Party sale that I had been dying to wear, and I couldn’t wait to photograph while on vacation. And then we had the opportunity to extend the vacation for a day, there was no wifi, and I was on a boat all weekend. #Lakehairdontcare doesn’t quite make for the best photos. But I’m back, feeling refreshed, and excited about the week! I’m thankful that I had such a fun, relaxing reason to skip a day of blogging!
We’ve all heard the rule about wearing white after Labor Day. I feel like it’s a personal choice, and I personally will be packing all of my white away when I get home today. I also pack away my “summery” Lilly Pulitzer pieces – specifically pieces that are in bright or neon hues or lightweight fabrics. I always dread doing this, because I’ve fallen in love with white jeans, and I love my bright Lilly pieces! The fact that Lilly Pulitzer has released some new pieces today makes my heart so happy!
Here’s my wishlist:
Marlowe Boatneck T-Shirt Dress in Indigo Pack Your Trunk || I already own three other Marlowe dresses – Multi Toucan Play, Sea Blue Lillys Lagoon, and True-Navy White Striped. It has become my favorite style of Lilly dress because it’s comfortable, work appropriate, and will be a great transition piece because of the length and sleeves. It’s under $100, and the cost-per-wear I’ve gotten out of mine so far is ridiculous. (PS – It’s so versatile that I even used the striped one as a lake cover up this weekend!)
Dusk Strappy Silk Slip Dress || I’m in love with how effortlessly glamorous this dress is! I love when Lilly does metallics, and this dress is no exception. I’m always looking for something a little different for a gala where I live, and I think this dress would be perfect. To be completely honest, I will probably wait for a sale, because $218 is a little out of my price range for a dress that I could probably only wear twice a year, if that.
Captain Printed Popover || This is a great budget friendly piece coming in at $98! I live in popovers in the fall and winter, and although this one is white, I think the navy elephant pattern makes it more fall appropriate. I love versatile casual pieces that still look presentable, and I could even see myself wearing it with my little navy pants on casual Friday at work.
Elsa Top in Pack Your Trunk || I always eye Elsa tops, but I’ve never pulled the trigger and purchased one. I really love this print, so it may be time to splurge and buy my first! I see this top being super versatile.
Printed Tabbie Tank || You’re probably wondering what a tank top is doing in my wishlist for fall pieces, but I love printed tanks for layering. When I leave in the mornings, sometimes there is frost on my windshield, and other days I feel like my face might melt off. This piece is $38, so there’s potential for a great cost-per-wear ratio. I can see myself pairing this with one of my favorite cardigans.
Bailey V-Neck Dress || I’m obsessed with how effortlessly sexy this dress is. I own very few pieces that I feel comfortable wearing for a night out on the town, but this would be perfect for the plethora of bachelorette parties I’m planning on attending this fall. (I could also see myself making it slightly less sexy and pairing it with black tights and studded heels… Maybe even a blazer.)
Do you have a favorite piece from Lilly’s new arrivals? What did you get into this long weekend?!
