Where has the summer gone, y’all? Even though the first day of fall isn’t until September 23, the schools in our area start back on Monday, and we’re going to be bombarded with pumpkin everything sooner rather than later!
I originally posted my Summer Bucket List as a way to stay accountable for my summer goals… As you can see, I have a lot of work to do!
Take the LSAT // I should have also added “Don’t have a nervous breakdown when you receive your score.”
Visit Dollywood // I haven’t made it there yet! I’m hoping to go towards the end of summer when it’s still warm enough for water rides, but not so hot that I feel like the heat is going to melt my face off. (This heat caused me to have a flare up with my illness + develop a heat rash that doesn’t show signs of going away. We are not friends.)
Exercise more frequently // I have really sucked at this one. I have lots of excuses, mostly involving how my schedule has changed with my new job, but exercising should be a priority. My family is joining a gym, so I think that will help hold me accountable.
Make tassel bracelets // I think about this every weekend. My apartment is slowly being taken over by half finished craft projects. If anyone needs me, I’ll be under a pile of sequins and hot glue strings.
Cook more frequently // With C and I starting new jobs, cooking hasn’t been as much of a priority as it should have been. We’re on different schedules right now, and sometimes it just makes more sense for us to separately pick something up and bring it in. I’m doing some research on crock pot recipes, because I feel like that could be the saving grace of the situation. If you have any favorites, please share the recipe with me!
Visit my dad & stepmom // I went to Indiana to see them the weekend before I started my new job. Too much food + too much wine (seriously, I don’t think I’ll ever touch a bottle of rose’ again…) = success! We were even able to meet up with C’s mom and dad for lunch!!
Finish painting canvases // I suck. Don’t hate me. They’re sitting on my dresser, and they will go out soon.
Travel // Expect lots of posts about Savannah over the next month! Vacationing with my sorority sisters was an absolute blast, and a girl’s trip was exactly what I needed! They are so supportive of my blog, which was awesome because between the four of us, we took some great photos to share with y’all!
Read at least three books // I’m working on Leave Your Mark right now, and it is rocking my world.
Make an “About me” page for my blog // I’m in the process! This is so much harder than I thought it would be!
Reach new social media milestones // I’m hoping to reach 4,000 Twitter followers, 150 Facebook likes, and 800 Instagram followers. I met them all! Y’all are awesome! I’m hoping to continue growing throughout the summer.
Do outreach for the homeless community // This one is always in the back of my mind. I need to make the time to sit down and clip some coupons and also to clean out some closet space for the products I store.
Write at least five handwritten notes // In progress!
See a movie // I saw The Minions, and it was the cutest movie ever! I’m really sad that we live in a world where movie theaters no longer feel safe, so this will probably be the only movie I see this summer. (A local movie theater had the fire alarm pulled twice during two different showings last week, so I’m still a little skittish.)
Study Spanish for at least an hour a week // Y’all are going to laugh, but one night when I was out in Savannah, I caught myself answering questions in my head in Spanish! Maybe I just need a drink to pull my Spanish knowledge out?! I haven’t done as much studying as I would like, but I really like the Mind Snacks app, and I can’t download it because my old phone isn’t updated. Hopefully I’ll be getting a new phone soon!
Not much progress, but thank goodness I still have some time!
