If you’re a regular reader, you probably noticed that my blog content this week is heavy on the lifestyle posts and light on the fashion posts. The day that I shot Tuesday’s blog post, I picked up some embarrassing sun burn/heat rash type of deal all over my legs. It is the color of a bruise, and I look like I rolled down a flight of stairs. I have been mortified to show my legs for the past week and a half.
Speaking of mortifying, today’s post is all about my most recent uncomfortable situation. If you haven’t heard the news (which I’m sure you probably have, because I’ve told everyone who will listen), since beginning my new job, I’m the only female in an office full of men. It’s surprisingly amazing, and I’ve really enjoyed having my own bathroom.
Monday was a Monday. I arrived to work already stressed out about an external situation that my boss and I had been working together to resolve since Monday. Our office had some kind of infestation over the weekend, and I killed six bugs that were so big that I could have put them in cages and made them the office pets, all before 10 AM. I didn’t have time to eat breakfast until 10:30 (when I finished killing bugs), and I didn’t have time for a lunch break at all. I finally had time for a restroom break, and I realized that my period had arrived a few days early.
In the past, an early period was no big deal. There was always a stash of feminine hygiene products in the women’s room at work, and if it was really bad, I could run home (next door) and change. I was relieved to find one tampon in a drawer, but almost died when I saw that it was for a super heavy flow… I needed the complete opposite.
I think the most uncomfortable part of the situation was the fact that I didn’t know how to approach the situation with my male boss. I was unprepared, which led me to be uncomfortable, and I don’t enjoy either of those feelings.
Hindsight is 20/20, so I stocked up on pretty much any kind of feminine hygiene product that I could ever need, including U by Kotex Curves Liners. They’re perfect for the days that you’re expecting your period to arrive, you have a light flow, or you just want a little extra panty protection. I created a little basket of “emergency products” just so that I’m prepared from now on – aside from the U by Kotex Curves Liners, I stash assorted U by Kotex feminine hygiene products, PMS meds, a stain removing pen, extra earrings, clear finger nail polish, lipstick, bobby pins, and hair ties. You never know what you might need!
U by Kotex has been generous enough to give you the opportunity to try their new Curves Liners & Lightdays Liners for FREE! Just click here to sign up for your free samples. And while you’re there be sure to submit your #bringingcomfyback selfie!
