Like most things in my life, my RocksBox experience was eventful, to say the least. I had a code to get my first month free, so after months of deliberation, I pulled the trigger and signed up! However, my expected date to receive my package rolled around, and it wasn’t here. And I couldn’t get anyone at Rocksbox to help me or respond to my emails for days. I almost just cancelled my free box then and there and called it a day.
One week late, my box arrived. At that point, the excitement had worn off. When I opened it, I was even more disappointed, because I wasn’t excited about anything in the box… Bummer. But I told myself that since I had ordered it, and it was here, I needed to give it a try. I’m honestly really glad that I did, though, because I never buy myself jewelry, and it was an opportunity to “play dress up” for a few days!
Here are the pieces that I received:
SLATE Crystal Spike Earrings
I put these on my wishlist, because I’ve been trying to try things that aren’t necessarily “my style.” I really liked them at first, but the more I wear them, the wore I realize that my hair gets all tangled in them. They’re cute, but there’s a really good chance that I will send them back.
Moon & Lola Vizela Ring
I hated this at first. But then I forced myself to wear it, and I’ve started to fall in love with it! It’s subtle yet sparkly, and just a fun, easy piece that I’ve thrown in with my every day rings.
Jill Michael Ball & Chain Necklace
This is one of those pieces that I felt like should go with everything, but really didn’t go with anything in my closet. It’s super cute, I just don’t see myself wearing it very much.
My box came with a little quote this month, and I’m super obsessed with it! I’m not sure if this is a monthly thing, but I plan on getting a little frame and either switching these quotes out whenever I get a new box or maybe even sprinkling them through my gallery wall. (Also, there are some random sunflowers outside of my apartment complex and I thought they fit the sunshine theme! I also just wanted to take a photo with them because they’re gorgeous, and it makes me so happy to seem them growing out of such an ugly pile of dirt and rocks.)
If you’ve never RocksBox-ed before, here are my tips for maximizing your experience:
- Be patient. My box arrived a week later than it was supposed to!
- If you need customer service, use the little chat option on the website. I sent multiple emails without much luck, but when I used the chat option on the website, my situation was immediately solved! (They immediately shipped me out a new box, and I received a credit that doesn’t expire.)
- Think when making your wishlist! I was super pumped when I went through and created my wishlist, but I went back through it after getting my first box and did a little editing because I got a little click happy!
- Use my code for your first month free! “DANABFF143” is all you need to know 🙂 I’m not on their blogger program, so I can only give three people a free month each month… Act fast!
By the way, I want to let y’all know that I received my second box, and they nailed it. After not being too psyched about the goodies in this box (that have definitely grown on me!), I promised myself I would try it for three boxes. My second box made me want to stick with the program, and I can’t wait to tell y’all about it in a couple of weeks!
Now I want to hear from y’all – Have you RocksBox-ed before? What do you vote that I keep and send back?
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments or shoot me an email!
Happy Friday, y’all!
This is not a sponsored post, and all opinions are my own. I received my first month of RocksBox for free by using a code from one of my blogging friends! If you use my code to sign up, I receive a credit to purchase jewelry. If you sign up, you also receive a code like I did, and can share it with your friends, as well 🙂
