I had a conversation at lunch last week about how my life is pretty much wedding season. This summer and fall, I am going to a record number of weddings. I am so excited to see my friends so happy in love, but sometimes I get a little stressed out when it comes to buying a gift. The registry is always a good go-to, but sometimes that isn’t an option. (Have you ever gotten to someone’s registry and realized the only thing left is a $300 KitchenAid Mixer and K Cups? Guilty over here!) Here are my picks when I need a shower gift, whether it be a household shower or a personal shower.
(PS – Everything is under $100!)
Waffle Maker // My aunt surprised me with one of these for Christmas! I never in a million years would have thought to ask for one, but my boyfriend and I make waffles almost every weekend now. If you wanted to get extra fancy, include a bottle of champagne, a thing of orange juice, and other brunch related goodies, and call it an “At-Home Brunch Date” set 🙂
Moscow Mule Mugs // Aside from loving Moscow Mules, I love how aesthetically pleasing the mugs are. I’ve honestly considered purchasing one to keep the pens at my desk in. If you wanted to go the extra mile with this gift, give them a bottle of vodka and a pack of Seagram’s Ginger Beer.
Spoon Rest // Maybe it’s just because I don’t cook frequently, but I when I moved into my apartment, a spoon rest was the least of my worries. But after months of having to grab a paper towel in the middle of cooking or just laying the spoon on the counter, I made my own at a pottery place. If you wanted to go the extra mile with this gift, gift it with a set of cooking spoons or a soup ladle.
Wine Opener & Chiller // I’ve never mastered the cork screw, and when I started working in events, I got really spoiled and had access to an electric bottle opener. These things make life easier, but I would have never purchased one for myself. (Shout out to my momma for buying me one for Christmas!) To go the extra mile with this gift, I would purchase a bottle of white wine.
Cheese Board Set // I love when I go to visit a friend or family member, and they pull out the cheeseboard. It’s super nice for the couple who loves entertaining guests, or just loves having fancy dinner dates at home! Cheese isn’t the best gift, so to go the extra mile with this gift, I would gift a bottle of red wine.
Leather Coasters // These can go in any room of your home – living room, bedroom, office, man cave, you name it! I think that leather coasters automatically class things up. If you wanted to spend a little more, I would gift these with a set of glasses.
Salad Serving Set // This is another great gift for couples that love to cook or entertain. (This will be at the top of my registry, because I pretty much make all of my salads in a big pot that’s meant for the stove. #dontjudge) If you wanted to go the extra mile with this gift, I would say salad sized bowls from the registry or a fancy salad dressing dispenser from a local gallery.
Whether it’s a lingerie shower or a monogram shower, these picks will help you shower the bride without breaking the bank. (I know that everyone doesn’t feel comfortable buying lingerie, so I’ve included some alternatives!)
Monogrammed Bandeau Bikini // Is the couple honeymooning at a beach? Here’s your gift! The bride will love that it has her new monogram on it! If you feel like a bikini top is an incomplete gift, try picking up a pair of bikini bottoms at Target.
Monogrammed Bangle // If the bride-to-be has a big stack of Alex and Ani bracelets, this is the perfect gift! If she doesn’t have a big stack or you want to give something besides a single bangle, consider getting a bangle with her groom’s birthstone or the stone for the month they married in.
Monogrammed Necklace // This is a simple, classic gift that can be personalized to fit the bride’s personality. Why not personalize the necklace to match her wedding colors?
Wifey Tee // I’m just a sucker for these “wifey” tees, and as much as I like to pretend that I’ll never wear one, I’ll probably have collected six of them between my engagement and wedding. To go that extra mile, why not gift a pair of cozy leggings? Perfect for the flight to the honeymoon!
Lingerie Bag // What’s a bride to do with all that lingerie she’s packed for her honeymoon?! Here’s the answer to that! If you wanted to take it a step further, include a cute little pair of panties or buy detergent that’s especially for lingerie.
Long Line Strapless Bra // I’m not going to harp on lingerie because we all know where to find it, but isn’t this piece cute?! (PS – It’s super affordable!)
“She Said Yes” Polish // I love when the name of a polish goes along with the occasion. (And I’m obsessed with white nails for summer…) To go the extra mile with this gift, consider getting the bride-to-be a gift certificate for a manicure and/or pedicure.
Cosabella Panty Set // I’m embarrassed to admit how much I love Cosabellas. If you really want to splurge on the bride, this set is a great gift. (PS – Aerie has very similar panties! They aren’t nearly as high quality, but you can also buy like 7 for what one pair of Cosabella panties would cost.)
Mrs. Necklace // Don’t we all secretly want our best friend to give us this necklace after we get engaged?! It may be a little cheesy, but isn’t it adorable and subtle? (And could easily be layered.) Want to go the extra mile? Consider matching earrings!
Happy Tuesday, y’all! Do you have a “go to” gift for wedding showers?
