I was super honored to read a scripture in my cousin’s wedding this weekend! She has been my role model my entire life, and I’m so blessed that she is also my sorority sister. Do you want to know the biggest stressor of the wedding was for me? Finding a dress.
Loved having my little brother as one of my dates!
I’ve been to a lot of weddings in the past few years, but this is the first formal wedding that I’ve been to in almost 6 years! If you’re attending a formal wedding this summer and stressing what to wear, I’ve pulled some of my favorite pieces!
Floor length dress – I think that floor length looks so elegant, but I’ve noticed more and more women wearing short dresses to formal weddings. (I personally like an excuse to wear a long dress, especially since my legs are super pale!) And floor length doesn’t have to mean boring – I love this black backless dress! Other dresses I love that are under $100 –
Accessories – I’m not a big fan of heels, but I bought a new little strappy pair for the wedding, and I’m so glad that I did! I also switched out my Speedy bag for a metallic Kate Spade crossbody. I hate trying to lug a large handbag around at weddings! I wore a simple pearl bracelet and pearl studs, but I definitely wouldn’t have minded having a pair of Kendra Scott earrings to wear! (PS – I almost rented this clutch… isn’t it darling?!) Other favorites –
Beauty – I wanted to take this opportunity to share a couple of my favorite beauty tips! Red lipstick is my favorite accessory and an instant confidence boost. If you want to give it a try, be sure to check out this tutorial! I had planned on getting a spray tan, but some major things came up, and it fell pretty low on the priority list. But if you are planning on getting a spray tan before attending a wedding, you’ll want to check out this post!
The beautiful bride & I
Do y’all have a “go to” look for a formal wedding? What did you get into this weekend?
By the way, thank you for the kind words and prayers for my Papaw. This has been a bittersweet weekend for my family with my cousin’s wedding and my Papaw’s hospitalization, but he is home and recovering, and we are praying for a full recovery.
