A few weeks ago, I shared this article, and it really made me think about my personal uniform. In college, I had three modes – sorority girl casual (Norts or leggings, oversized tees, and Chacos/neon tennis shoes), super preppy, and Thursday night. Now that I’ve graduated, and I work full time, my style has evolved quite a bit. Sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s okay to buy fun clothes to complement my wardrobe full of professional attire.
My uniform is a pencil skirt with some form of button up blouse… Simple enough. I find that mixing these two wardrobe staples allows me to get away with texture and pattern play!
This is one of my winter go-tos – fun & warm! I love the pairing of all of the neutrals, and how the leopard blouse and fur vest make such a basic pencil skirt so fun!
When I was still an intern, my mom bought me this skirt to celebrate my first real meeting! It is without a doubt one of my most complimented pieces. I paired it with a blazer because I had to be filmed the day this photo was taken, but I usually pair this skirt with a sheer black blouse.
I walk to work every day, so Bean Boots are a must! I absolutely love mixing them in with fun skirts and dresses. I also really love this plaid pencil skirt! C helped me pick it out on one of our first dates, and that memory makes me love it even more.
I wore this little pencil skirt combo to a friend’s engagement party, because the dress code was cocktail casual, and I really had no clue what that meant. This is one of my favorite pattern plays – floral lace on the skirt and a striped silk blouse!
I can’t wait to hear what your personal uniform is! Leave it in the comments or tweet it to me – @seersuckersass 🙂 Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!
