I feel like fall in East Tennessee lasted approximately 3 days. The first day of winter may not be until December 21, but I woke up Saturday morning with snow on the ground! Winter is without a doubt my least favorite season, but I credit the following six things for getting me through.
Camp Socks I bought my first pair of camp socks a few years ago when the trend of wearing socks higher than your boots became hot. I dislike socks with a passion, but I LOVE these. They’re thick and cozy, and you can wear them indoors as slippers.
Bean Boots Once you’ve got your camp socks on, it’s time to put on your Bean Boots! If I said my Bean Boots were my favorite shoes, I would be lying. They’re hard to get on and sometimes I feel like a duck when I’m wearing them, but when the weather is nasty, they have my back. I walk to work the majority of the time because I live so close, so I’m thankful to have these babies for even the snowiest, iciest days.
Hand Lotion I have dry skin on a good day, and winter just makes it dryer than usual. I received a bottle of Jergens for dry skin from Influenster, and it’s without a doubt the best stuff that I’ve used yet.
Vaseline My lips get so chapped during the winter and the fact that I wear a matte lipstick doesn’t help my cause. So when I’m not wearing lipstick, I keep my lips greased with Vaseline. I have these tiny tubs everywhere – my desk, my purse, my car, my nightstand, and a couple at my mom’s house.
Hot Cocoa I’m always cold at work, and a good cup of hot cocoa or hot chocolate is my favorite way to solve that problem. If you have a coffee maker with the lever for hot water, it takes less than a minute to make it. If you’re looking for something a little different, why not warm up with my Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte?
A Good Moisturizer Not only do my hands and lips dry out during the winter, but my face does, as well! I really like this moisturizer, and I am also a big fan of Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.
What is it that you can’t survive the winter without?! Hope you’re having a great Monday!
