In the fall and winter, it’s easy for me to lose track of time at work and stay until 6:30 or 7. Since it was dark when I left for work and left for home, it didn’t really bother me. However, it’s a different story now that the weather is nicer. I long to get outside and out of my overly air conditioned office. Since I can’t work outside, I’ve taken steps to brightening up my office a little bit.
Bright Office Supplies
I love bright office supplies! Not only do they brighten my mood, they have put my personal stamp on things that I circulate around the office. I’ve had multiple people comment that they know without even looking at the file that if it comes in a colorful folder or has a hot pink paper clip, it’s from me. That’s something that I’m okay with being known for! (And people are less likely to
steal borrow & never return your stapler if it’s funky and different from all of the other ones, right?) My personal favorites for purchasing inexpensive office supplies are Target’s dollar aisle and Office Depot.
Bright Office Decor
I’m a big advocate of making minor changes to decor as the seasons change. I love the vibrant prints, and I think the clock is such a fun piece! Another thing that I really enjoy is “clustering” photo frames instead of having them spread out. I would take a Lilly print frame and then find a couple of basic frames with the same color scheme and group them together!
Bright Office Screensaver
This is such a simple way to brighten things up! I have dual monitors, and they take up a huge chunk of my desk space. I keep a fun screensaver on them, and people always stop by to compliment it. My favorite places to find screensavers are The College Prepster’s site or just by googling.
Any ideas that you think you’ll put into action? Any suggestions on other ways to brighten up an office space? I would love to hear them!
Happy Tuesday! Can’t wait for y’all to see what I have planned for the rest of the week!
