This weekend has been a wild one for me! Saturday afternoon I went to a bridal tea for one of my really good friends from undergrad that I served on Student Government Association with. Sunday, I helped throw a bridal shower for my sweet little who is getting married in 5 days! (!!!!!!!!) Since I have bridal affairs on the brain, today’s post is about the do’s and don’ts of bridal shower fashion.
Maxi dresses were a hit at yesterday’s shower! I feel like there is an understated elegance about them, and we all know that if you wear the right one it feels like you’re wearing yoga pants. Plus, if you forgot to shave your legs that morning, you’re safe! I love these affordable and fun picks from Nordstrom.
Other Cute Dresses
Confession – I wore Lilly to both bridal showers this weekend. I feel like a patterned Lilly is a pretty safe bet for bridal and baby showers.
For the Bride
Call me old fashioned, but I am a very firm believer that while attending a bridal event (shower, rehearsal dinner, actual wedding, etc.) white (and shades of white) should only be worn by the bride. I get so worked up over this topic. Let the bride enjoy her time to shine and be the only girl wearing white!
Just Say No To…
Cut-outs or anything revealing
The cut-out trend that leaves midriff or side boob exposed is definitely hot right now. However, I think that wedding showers are a time when dressing modestly is a little more appropriate, especially since a lot of showers take place at churches. Save your cut-outs for the lingerie shower or bachelorette party!
Do y’all have any additional tips? Will you be attending any bridal showers this summer?
Have a happy Monday!
