Back in the day, I was kind of a “teen model.” A friend of my uncle owned a talent agency, and I was super interested in acting, so we were introduced. They hooked me up with an acting coach under the condition that I would do some modeling work. A few months later, I switched over to a Miami based agency and dabbled in work in Atlanta for a little bit. When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, I stopped modeling. My weight was very unstable, and I was just kind of weird looking. (I weighed 85 pounds, but I had a moon face because of steroids.) So those were my “glory days!”
I had originally planned on having a party as a three year celebration of being cancer free. However, I have been really intrigued by all of these pin-up style photo shoots that I see people having. I was asking one of my friends who is now a full-time mommy & part-time model what her thoughts were, and she offered to shoot the whole thing for me for free! How freaking awesome is that? So now, I am going to have a photo shoot instead. I think that is a big step for me since my views about my appearance have changed so much since having cancer. You better believe that my cancer scars will be visible in some of the shots!
Here are some things that inspire me:
I’ve been in love with this photo ever since I saw it.
I don’t want to get sued by a photographer for using one of their images, but I highly recommend checking out the website for Alley Kat Photography. SO MANY cutesy & tasteful photos!
I’ve already ordered this cute swimsuit from a local boutique!
Isn’t this apron a fun idea?
Don’t neglect the dramatic makeup!
And you’ve gotta have some fun props!
So what do you think about my idea… Crazy or cool? Any ideas or suggestions!
Also, I’ve decided to start replying back to your comments via email! It allows me to do it immediately, and I also think it gives us a chance to have more of a personal conversation. 🙂
