I know that I have vaguely talked this topic into the ground, and please forgive me for that. Writing is how I cope and how I heal from things that aren’t ideal.
Since I graduated college, I have been such a happy person. My goal has become to look for the silver lining in everything that I do. Things right now are uncomfortable and while I thought that I had become desensitized to domestic violence, last Wednesday jerked a knot in my chain, so to speak. But I will continue to look for the silver lining.
There are so many good people in this world. So so many. And I like to think that y’all are included in that number.
Sometimes I lose faith in humanity when I learn of things like 14-year old Sarah who tweeted threats toward American Airlines claiming to be a member of Al Qaeda, and that she was going to “do something big on June 1.” [article] And then I remember that there are also kids like Jack Andraka, aka the 15 year old boy who invented an early test for pancreatic cancer, and I feel like maybe our world will be okay after all…Because we can’t have the Jack’s without having a handful Sarah’s.
And in the words of Kid President, who might just be the wisest person on this planet, “If everybody’s good, then it gives the world a reason to dance… so get to it!”
Happy Humpday! I hope you are encountering more of the good people in this world than the not so good today 🙂 Come back tomorrow for an update on my 24 before 24 list!
