Sunny Shoulders

Happy Monday!  (And hopefully 'happy end to my blogging hiatus'!)  Since today kicks off the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale, I wanted to share my favorite Lilly Pulitzer top!  (Updated to note that it's part of the sale!  I've linked to it on Zappos.)

I mostly purchase pieces that I can wear to work, so this has become my designated "weekend top."  I don't typically have meetings on Fridays, so I love wearing this top on casual Fridays.  (I keep a jacket at my desk, just in case.)  It transitions perfectly from the office to drinks with friends or a dinner date.

It goes great with just about anything - dark wash denim, white denim, pixie pants, shorts of every color of the rainbow - and something about the fun sleeves inspires me to play with accessories a bit.  I'm just wearing studs here, but I love pairing bright, beaded tassel earrings with the look, as well.

The only thing I don't love is that it wrinkles easily.  If you're traveling with this top, keep it in a garment bag and pack your mini-steamer.  (Like I should have done for these photos... oops!)

Now, let's talk about one of the best days of the year for a Lilly Lover - The After Party Sale!  I usually shop the summer and winter sales with different things in mind.  During the winter sale, I pick up things I can wear to work.  Since it stays warm until about October where I live, I use the summer sale to pick up fun, easily transitioned pieces like this romper I wore in Charleston, the Marlowe dresses that I live in, and these printed linen pants that are perfect for running errands or beach days.

(Update - so far I have ordered this dress via Amazon.  They're price matching + Prime eligible + allow returns!)

(Update 2 - I just ordered palazzo pants, another sunny shoulders top, and a cashmere hoodie.)

Since my work schedule doesn't allow for me to do an After Party Sale post today, I'll be tweeting my favorites throughout the day!  Be sure that you're following along with me on Twitter @seersuckersass.

I apologize for the brevity of today's post, but I'm optimistic that tomorrow's will be a little longer.  And I don't want to keep you too long... There's shopping to be done!

  3. That dress you ordered on Amazon is going to look SO cute on you. I wish it stayed warmer longer where I live...by the end of the summer in Seattle it will likely be rainy and cold so I feel silly buying any summery dresses for a little while. As sad as it is, at least it keeps me from shopping one sale, haha.
