Happy Friday, sweet friends! I don't know about y'all but I am ready for the weekend. I was optimistic that this would be a nice little easy week that I could just ease back into work after my trip to Connecticut & New York... HA. This week has been insane. I've been trying to finish the same project since Monday, and I think I'm finally going to be able to get started on it this afternoon. Haha
Speaking of my trip to Connecticut and New York, I have a post coming soon with some of my favorites from the trip, but in the meantime I wanted to share a fun fashion post with you. (Please look past the lighting - it was a dreary day, and I didn't want to travel with a DSLR, so I just borrowed a point and shoot when I got there.)
I packed this dress to wear for Thanksgiving because of its super soft fabric and swing dress shape. It's comfy, and I knew I wouldn't feel suffocated when I overindulged at dinner. (I love to wear this dress for traveling, infusions, or days where I don't feel well and don't want to fuss with real clothes.)
Exploring a city's downtown area is one of my favorite things to do, and New Canaan's downtown is very high on my list of favorites, so I was glad that we had time for a quick walk before Thanksgiving dinner. I love that it's a small town (population 20,000) with big city amenities. There are preppy classics like Vineyard Vines, Ann Taylor, and J. Crew, mixed in with small businesses that sell anything you can imagine - clothing, antiques, paper goods, a juice bar, olive oil... you name it and it's there! (It's also a blogger's dream because there are brick walls everywhere.)
I bought the dress I'm wearing from my friend Cori's boutique Mimi Mae a couple of months ago before heading to South Carolina, so I'm not sure if it's in stock or not. I've linked to her Instagram, so if you're interested, reach out to her through DM. I typically go to her store to grab something new before I travel, and basically everything I wore on this trip was Mimi Mae! Haha.
Enough about me - what are your plans for the weekend?
