Happy Tuesday, friends! Over the course of the summer, I've collected a lot of beauty products, whether it be samples from a subscription service, gifts, or press samples. I'm really excited to be sharing a few of my favorites with you today, and a few more favorites in the coming weeks! (I just bought a ton of stuff at Ulta to manage the current eyelash crisis + received some major shipments of press samples, and I don't like to review things until they're tried and true!)
Before trying this product, I had never used a sleeping cream before. This one is designed to "deeply nourish, visibly revitalize, and intensely firm while you sleep." It has Lavandin Oil, which stimulates the fusion of elastin and collagen. This is important to me in a product because I look younger than I actually am, and I would like to keep that going forever! Haha. My favorite part about this product is that my pores shrunk noticeably after my first use and are continuing to shrink.
My familiarity with The Body Shop was basically that I would run in and grab some hand cream if I came across one in an airport, but after doing my research, I've learned that they have some really great product lines that I'm excited to dig a little deeper into!
I read about this product on Chronicles of Frivolity around the same time I was debating on getting rid of my eyelash extensions. After reading online about bloggers that used it and creeping on photos of their eyelashes, I realized this was my best bet.
I'm going on week three of using this, and as you can tell from my photos, my eyelashes aren't a mile long yet. I'm basically starting from scratch with my lashes. However, when I look in the mirror, I see sooo much new growth. My lashes are growing in thicker than they were pre-damage, and they are growing super quickly! I can only imagine how quickly this would work for girls who already have good lashes and just want to take them to the next level.
(PS - Lots of other bloggers link to this on Nordstrom, but you can get it for about half price on Amazon!)
Back in my days of unlimited spray tanning, a make up artist taught me to use translucent powder, and I've never gone back from that. There's something about powders that match my skin tone that make me look cakey. I really like this powder. It goes on easily, and works well when I'm blending my contour. It's also at a great price point - only $30 for that giant tub of powder!
Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder Brush (c/o)
The best word to describe this brush is feathery. It's so soft and gentle, and it's hands down the best makeup brush I've ever used.
Aussie Mega Hair Spray
My mom used Aussie products religiously when I was growing up, so I did by default. However, after saying goodbye to the Sprunch Spray of my high school days, I didn't really use Aussie any more. Flash forward to me running out of hair spray a few weeks ago, and discovering this baby under the sink in a Walmart Beauty Box.
My final test for this hair spray was when I went to a luau on a lake this weekend. It was in the high 80's, and the humidity was no joke. This stuff was amazing, and just as good as any high end hair spray that I have used in the past.
Batiste Dry Shampoo (Blush)
When I went to visit Nicole a couple of weekends ago, she had a little welcome basket for me. Nashville was under a heat advisory, so I knew better than to try to do anything with my hair since we would be outside exploring murals. I used some of this dry shampoo, and it worked like a charm.
I used to previously swear by another drug store dry shampoo, but this one even better. I love that this is scented, because my previous favorite just smelled like chemicals.
I want to hear from you - What is your favorite beauty goodie that you've picked up this summer?
(PS - If you enjoyed this post, I'm talking about all things beauty over on The Blush Blonde today!)
(PPS - Thanks for all of your kind words and positive vibes while I deal with #eyelashcrisis16 ;) Love y'all to pieces, and the comments on yesterday's post made me smile!)
