This Christmas, my stocking was full of athleisure goodies - fun sports bras, patterned yoga capris, and colorful running shorts. I was so excited and asked her if she knew that getting in better shape was on my New Year's Resolutions. "No, I just know that you like to dress like you've been at the gym when you haven't." Thanks mom!
But in all reality, I do like dressing like I've been at the gym. I spend all week wearing business casual to business professional attire and clicking around in heels. Weekends are for relaxing. But given the nature of my job and the small size of my community, I still like to look put together, even if I'm just taking the dog for a walk, because you never know who you might see!
This weekend was absolutely gorgeous, so my boyfriend and I took Franny for a couple of long walks so that we could all get a little exercise! I love this wrap sweater from Aerie. I had a really similar one when I was in ballet. I love that it's light, and because of the wrap styling, you can decide just how loose or tight you like it. (For reference, I'm wearing a size large wrap sweater in these photos because I wanted looseness in the arms, but it still tapers to my waist.)
Wrap Sweater: Aerie • Top: New Balance (old, similar found here) • Yoga Capris: New Balance (old, similar found here) • Sneakers: Vans • Sunglasses: Ditto Endless Eyewear (similar here for $12!)
After a long walk with Franny, it was decided that we had earned a treat from our favorite little ice cream shop downtown. And after Sunday's long walk, we treated ourselves to dinner from Pal's. We totally have this working out thing figured out right ;)
Happy Monday, y'all! How was your weekend? Are you loving the athleisure trend?
(If so, I've linked some of my athleisure favorites for you at the bottom of this post!)
PS - If you're wondering how lazy my style is, here is my favorite fashion hack. If you look like complete and total hell, put on tennis shoes and gym clothes and throw your hair back. Voila, now people think you look so rough because you had a ridiculously hard workout. I'm ashamed to admit how many times I have done this since graduating high school, and that is totally why athleisure is my favorite!
