November Goals

I've had the #MakeYourMonth Link Up on my calendar for a month now!  The holidays are such a busy time in my life, and I thought this would be a great exercise to sit down and think about what I need to do this month.  Last night I realized that the linkup is non-existent now, but in the nature of sticking to my editorial calendar, I'm still going to share my goals for the month.

November Goals

Watch my language.  I wish I could say that I always use polite words and curse words never leave my mouth, but that would be a fib.  It has always been a bad habit, but I feel like it has gotten worse now that I work in an all male environment, because they are totally not judgmental when I speak without a filter.

Devote more time to God.  I don't intentionally skip out on spending time with The Lord.  My evening will be a whirlwind, and before I know it, it's 9 pm, I need to shower for the next day, and I realize I haven't spent anytime just meditating and praying.  I hope that I'll spend more time this month really focusing on the Lord, even if it means I have less time to "watch my shows" or create content.

Put more effort into my appearance.  With the nature of my job, I would be so proud of myself if I looked camera ready every day.  This is even more difficult since my hair is impossibly long again.  My goal is to pick an outfit out each night, actually wake up with my second alarm, and put on at least a smidge of makeup every day.

Get cracking on the blog courses I'm registered for.  I love learning!  I'm currently working to make my blog the best it can be, so I registered for Helene in Between's courses - Quit Your Job to Blog and Instagram for Success.  I'm hoping to set aside a couple of hours a week to solely focus on these courses!

Cook more often.  Y'all, I'm the worst girlfriend when it comes to cooking.  My boyfriend would have home cooked meals every night if it was a feasibility, but I just do not enjoy cooking.  (Again, I totally think it's a time thing.)  This weekend, we pinned some recipes, so I'm going to try to take some initiative and meal plan for us so that we can enjoy some time in the kitchen together, especially with our anniversary this week.

Save as much money as possible.  I'm taking two weekend trips to New York this month - one for a wedding and one for Thanksgiving - so I'm hoping to save as much money as possible to have a little extra spend money for my trips!

Focus on using gentle products for skin and hair care.  I had an allergic reaction last week, and it sucked.  I had a really bad breakout, and something that I used to treat it caused my skin and scalp to react.  I ended up buying all new skincare this weekend, and I'm planning to slowly transition to makeup that isn't so harsh as I run out of products.

What about YOU?  What are your goals for November?

  1. Oh my gosh, I am not a person who enjoys cooking either.
I have literally made Michael dinner once in the time that we've been together. (by dinner I mean something that didn't come completely from a box or a bag) haha
I want to start utilizing our crockpot more often since we can have that running while we're at work.

  5. What absolutely wonderful November goals! I can't wait to see how they turn out for you. I could definitely do better on watching my language too. I used to be SO anti-swearing when I was in high school, but this past year I've gotten very bad!! I'm so good about being careful in language choices online- but often in my actual speech things just slip out.

I also can't wait to cook more often once I get my own place next year!! Do blog about any easy and yummy recipes you come across :-)

  6. Allergic reactions are the worst! I totally feel ya on that. These are absolutely wonderful goals, and I share most of them with you! I am doing a new devotional this month, so I'm hoping to set aside time every day to bible study!

    Best of luck girly :)

  8. Totally agree with cooking more often! It's not that I go out all the time, it's more so that I rely on my microwave more than I should. Definitely need to search Pinterest for some simple, tasty recipes!

  9. Another great post!! I am with you on the cooking front! I am just now starting to enjoy it more! You should invest in a crockpot if you don't already have one! I have made so many easy and delicious meals...my current favorite? A chicken, stuffing, and green bean concoction that tastes just like Thanksgiving dinner!

  10. You are always so stunning, so I can't picture you not perfectly pulled together! I am working on saving as much as possible and cooking healthier meals at home! SO hard, but worth it I think.

  13. I think your November goals are great (and totally attainable for the most part). I definitely have days I look pulled together and days I look like a total mess (today was one of them), you are naturally gorgeous so I am sure you look camera ready no matter what! I also have trouble cooking often so my boyfriend does more cooking than I do. I do want to contribute more.

  14. Putting more effort into my appearance is something I want to focus on too. Since I would rather sleep in instead of waking up a little earlier to look "camera ready", I usually end up in leggings, a sweatshirt, and a baseball hat for class, but I want that to change!! I'm going to try to make time for my appearance in the morning as well.

  15. I hope you share with us the recipes you create, I'm always looking for yummy, easy recipes for my husband and I to eat. We work late nights & get up early in the morning so I understand wanting to have a home cooked meal but seriously just not having the time to do it!

  20. I'm trying to cook more too. It's so good to write down your goals. I think it makes me more accountable.

  21. One of my goals is to start working on QYJTB, too! I've been so busy with midterms and whatnot that I haven't been able to even look at it yet.

  22. Girl, I am terrible when it comes to my mouth! And you wouldn't be able to tell that when looking at me! Also, I've been cooking more too! Honestly, it's a lot of rice and pasta but I'm trying to branch out!

  23. I am terrible with always looking "on," especially if it's a busy week at school! I find that it's easiest to plan possible outfit choices on Sunday night, and wear whatever options feel good for that day.
