Thirsty Thursday

My mom has always told me that she doesn't drink because she would rather eat her calories than drink her calories.  As my metabolism starts to slow down, I'm realizing there's some truth to that!  I don't drink often, but when I do, I usually try to drink something light and refreshing.  (My mixed drinks of choice are Moscow Mules and vodka tonics.)

If you're looking for something to make for your Labor Day weekend that's refreshing and not loaded down with calories, I recommend this drink!  I made it up on our bachelorette trip, and while it's not complex, it is pretty delicious!

You don't need much at all:

• Vodka
• Ice (optional, but I like ice in my drinks)

It's seriously so simple - put the ice in your glass and fill it two thirds full with Peach Pear La Croix

Then you add your vodka.  In the small glass above, I only added about one shot.  But in the Lilly Pulitzer cup below, I added two shots.  I don't like my drinks very strong, so add as little or as much as you want.  (Or don't add any at all, because it's just as delicious without it!)

After adding vodka, I put a splash of diet cranberry juice in the drink.  It adds a pop of color, and it also helps kill the vodka taste.  (If you like to measure things, I'd say half a shot glass.  If the drink is too strong, add another splash.)

Stir and enjoy!

Simple enough, right?

I do need y'all's help though - my drink has no name!  Suggestions?  You're so creative that I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Cheers, y'all!

XX,

SS

This post does not promote underage drinking.  If you're not of the legal drinking age, just skip the vodka - it's equally as delicious and has even fewer calories that way!

  2. I am all about making drinks. A vodka cranberry is also called a Copcodder. I would say that the drink name should maybe have to do with the beach and vacation.

  4. Looks great and oh so refreshing!! I'm not a big LaCroix person by itself but I think it would be perfect and bubbly in this. Also can't get over that last picture - you look like a modern day Martha Stewart!

  7. I was drinking La Croix at the pool a few weeks ago, pretending to be skinny and thought it would have tasted so much better with alcohol in it. Imma have to try this over the weekend :)

  17. That sounds so good. I want to incorporate more La Croix drinks into my diet because I like having something with carbonation and taste, but I don't want all of the calories of soda. Drinking really can add a ton of calories if you aren't paying attention.

  21. Ahh! We did a girls weekend a few weekends ago and one of the girls was making la croix + vodka, and to be honest, I didn't quite like it. However, adding cranberry juice is so smart and it sounds way more delicious than just la croix and vodka. ;-)
