In vs. Out

Y'all, I'm so tickled to be participating in my friend Allison's In vs. Out Link Up today!  When she started the weekly column, I was jealous because it's such a brilliant idea.  I hope that you'll link up with us today, as well!

IN:

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I 1. live tweeted the show and 2. have a real obsession.  Scream Queens is outrageous, and I absolutely love it.  I know that lots of sorority women may not share that opinion because it perpetuates a lot of the Greek stereotypes, but it's so outrageous that it's obvious it's satire.  Think PLL, but sillier, more gore, and amazing wardrobe choices.  I'm already excited to watch it next Tuesday!

I took a little impulse shopping trip before going on my leadership retreat, and I picked up the comfiest dress from the Gap!  It's a great layering piece - for now it's awesome like it is, but as it gets chillier I'll add a scarf or leggings.  It's a piece you can wear with flats, booties, riding boots, etc, and it also comes in navy.

College Towns
My alma mater's homecoming is this weekend!  It's our college's first time having a football program in 12 years, and I can't wait to tailgate!  Most of my friends (and myself) didn't get tickets in time, so we're tailgating and then skipping the game to grab Mexican at our favorite place.  I'm so excited to see everyone!  (And there's a possibility that I might even be moving back... More details on this later!)

OUT

Victim Blaming
Some of y'all may have seen the absolutely terrifying Craigslist post written about a woman in my area.  A man was basically admitting to stalking her, knowing where she lived, and that he was going to make her his.  Women on Facebook reacted by sharing the post, urging their friends to be careful and keep the message going.  And then the redneck men popped out of the woodwork to shame our unknown friend for not being aware of her surroundings and saying that she needs to get a gun.  #sadday #ihatetheinternet

Allergies
Y'all, my eyes are a mess from these allergies.  They're runny and itchy, they hurt, and I've worn glasses so many days this week that I thought I might have to add them to my bitmoji.  I can't wear makeup either because I rub my eyes and smear it in there.  I'm not even going to comment on the fact that my lips are chapped like a small child's, and my scalp is freaking out.  Here's to hoping next week is better!

Donald Trump
I'm not much for posting political things on my blog, but I'll be so happy when Trump's 15 minutes of fame is up.  He's racist, sexist, and hypocritical.  Please #begone.

Okay, y'all's turn!  What's in this week?  What's out?  Create your own post and link up to Allison's here!

Hope you have a happy weekend!

XX,

SS

  1. We need to take a moment of silence for how perfect that striped dress is-it's the perfect fall wardrobe essential!

But the victim shaming is too bad... It gets old fast.

  4. I was thinking about PLL when I was watching the Scream Queens premiere! The dialogue is so snappy and over the top - hilarious. I have spring allergies that are just as bad, I can empathize!

  7. I love your picks for this post! I DVR'ed Scream Queens and can't wait to catch up. I hate victim shaming, people need to grown up and think in a bigger picture. Have a great weekend girly!

  8. So sick of the Donald Trump hype as well. I watched Scream Queens and have mixed feelings. I love the fashion but don't know if I can handle the craziness. I'll watch a few more episodes and see (:

  9. I love Scream Queens, I may be the only person out there that appreciates the random 1980s and 90s song on the show that really have nothing to do with what is going on. I still can't believe that there are people out there that think Trump would make a good president.

  11. Yes to everything! I watched Scream Queens too and I'm obsessed. I'm in a sorority, but it's just laughable at how unrealistic it is. It's hilarious, and I agree, the clothing choices are excellent! I'm not one to comment on politics either, but really? Why would we want a reality star known for being aggressive and essentially an awful person as our president? I'm confused at the general public.

  12. I saw your post on Facebook! It's literally so horrifying, I'm so scared for that girl and honestly for all women! It's a scary world out there and it stinks that the responsibility is continuously put on us to protect ourselves.

I'll be publishing my In vs. Out post tomorrow! I'm so excited Allison made this a link up and I'm happy to see so many MBN members participating and supporting her.
