I had my first Junior League event last night, and I seriously had the absolute best time. I had to leave work a few minutes early because I was super sick, napped until the last possible moment, and I had such a great time that I didn't even remember I didn't feel very well, and I stayed out until 10. I am super psyched to be getting involved with such an awesome organization!
Needless to say, I'm a little bit behind today! So instead of preaching to y'all like I usually do during "Wednesday Wisdom," I'd love for you to share a piece of wisdom with me and my readers! It can be about anything you want it to be! Who knows... I may even use it for a future project ;)
I hope that everyone is having an absolutely amazing Wednesday!

Aww, thank you, love! I am only provisional status, but I am just so excited!!
DeleteHmm.. I've been trying to think of some wisdom to spread to you. Well, I think that one thing I've always kept in mind is that you should count your blessings, not your problems. With fibromyalgia, horrible migraines and terrible luck with friends, I always focused on the bad. But it's so important to keep life in perspective and remember all of the blessings you have instead of focusing on the bad! I hope you have a beautiful Wednesday. :)

Get it girl! One of my favorite saying is "make friends with failure". I'm such a perfectionist that the fear of failing sometimes inhibits my efforts. I have been trying this year to instead invite trial and error and this failure into my life so that I can grow. It's been going well btw :) happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteOoh, girl! I love that saying :) You are so wise! You are definitely going to grow this year with that as your motto :) Xo
DeleteI hope you're feeling better soon and what Junior League are you joining? Hope you'll tell us more about it. On the quote? I say 'Love thyself'...we are our own worst critique and we should learn to love ourselves the way others love us.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I agree, Shireen! That is such a great quote :) Why are we so hard on ourselves? Xo
DeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite bible passage is "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope." (Jeremiah 29:11). It always helps me to stop and remember that no matter how much planning and structuring I do, it's still ultimately in God's hands, and His plan is greater than any I could come up with myself. It's good to have structure, but in those moments where I don't know what to do when it isn't exactly as I had planned I have learned to let it go and completely rest in God.

Sweet Spontaneity
Isn't it so comforting to know that God has it all under control? Thanks so much for sharing your favorite passage with me! Xo
DeleteMy favorite piece of wisdom is definitely that everything happens for a reason! Sometimes when sad or bad things happen it's hard for me to remember, but it always ends up being a piece of comfort that gets me through a hard time. Not that you are having one, but I love that quote! Congrats on Junior League :)

Delete" As I look back on my life, I realize that everything I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better" Chin up!

DeleteYay for junior league.
ReplyDeleteHere is a bit of wisdom that I always tell people when they ask me how I do it. "You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have." Be strong my sister!

DeleteSo glad you had a great time :) That is awesome and what a wonderful organization! Something that I didn't learn until later in life was pay attention to a person's actions and not words.

DeleteLet's see. I think the wisdom I'd like to share is to slow down. I love lists and planners as much as the next person, and crossing things off brings so much happines,s but sometimes it's better to live life without an agenda. Just slow down and enjoy the ride.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great piece of advice! Thank you so much for sharing :) Xoxo
DeleteI hope you will have a great time.

Aww, thank you so much, love! Hope that you're having a great week :) Xo
DeleteHmmm wisdom... my go to piece of advice is always once you find something you're truly passionate about. Wrap it in a box and keep it deep in your heart and don't let anyone get near it. It's your passion, no one else's and no one can stop you from what you're passionate about. Also I once was told "Never look sideways, always look forward and other peoples' successes are not your failures."

DeleteOne of the pieces of wisdom my mom taught me at a young age was "pretty is as pretty does." Essentially, you're only as pretty as your actions. I try to live by that the best I can :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, such a great quote! Hope that you're having a great week :) Xo
DeleteHope you enjoyed the event! Wisdom erm...I read a post about how you should try three different hobbies - one to make money, one for fun and one to keep you in shape and I'm trying to stick to it. So far it's been successful!
