Staying Warm at Work

I'm always freezing.  It doesn't matter what time of year it is, I sit at my desk with a blanket wrapped around my legs and a cardigan on.  After airing my grievances about this on twitter, I've learned that a lot of y'all are cold at your workplace, as well.  Here are my tips for staying warm at work.

Blanket Scarf  I never really hopped on board the blanket scarf trend.  But I got one for Christmas, and I am in love with it.  When I was in Mexico, it was kind of chilly, so I wore it as a scarf, then would wrap myself in it when we stopped at a rooftop bar or dined outdoors.  It was perfect on the airplane coming home, and I have been wrapping myself in it at my desk, as well.  The one I have is a large buffalo check print.

Blanket  If the blanket scarf doesn't do it for you, try an actual blanket!  One of my sorority sisters bought me this amazing blanket my sophomore year, and I keep my legs wrapped in it pretty much year round.  Mine is fleece and sheds occasionally, so I recommend a nice cable knit - looks classic and feels warm.

Fur Vest  I am so glad this is a trend, because I have been rocking the fur vest at work!  Mine is faux, but it still keeps me warm enough that some days I actually have to take it off for fear of sweating.

Dry Hair  Where I have sooo much hair, I can get by without having it fully dry when I head to work.  Or some days, I will just braid my hair while it's wet because I don't have time to do anything with it.  On days where I go to work without completely dry hair, I feel cold the rest of the day!  {hair dyer shown}

Hot Beverage  I'm addicted to hot tea, especially peppermint and green tea.  It's amazing how quickly it will warm you up!  Plus, drinking out of a cute mug will boost your mood!  I've recently become a huge fan of Sweet'N Low in my hot drinks!  Since I live so close to work, occasionally I will sneak out on my lunch break and make one of the recipes on their website.  #yum   {mug shown}

Thick Tights  I'm not big on wearing pants to work, and I wear skirts and dresses as much as possible.  Thick tights are a must for a cold work place!

Are you always freezing? Any tips on how you stay warm in a chilly workplace?

Disclosure:  I recently received Sweet'N Low samples through my relationship with Sweet'N Low and Crowdtap.  However, all opinions are my own.

  1. I am always cold too. Wet hair makes the day so miserably cold, it's horrible, my hair doesn't dry quick, I've no hair dryer, and I don't like to towel dry my hair, so I just suffer haha. Hot drink will always do the trick, also layering is good, because if you get too hot, then take off as many layers as you want :)

    1. Oh goodness! I couldn't survive without my hairdryer since my hair dries so slowly! I miss summer when I could just let it air dry...

  5. Great post! I have Raynauds, so my hands are always freezing- even in the summer- inevitably making the rest of me cold, too. I recently purchased my first blanket scarf and it is easily my most worn item. Love your blog!
