Sunday Series: Prayer Routines

It happens multiple times a day... I'll be scrolling through my Facebook feed and someone will be asking for prayer for a family member.  I immediately send up a quick prayer for them and go about my day.  And then I'll realize that I haven't said my personal prayers for the day!

Colossians 4:2 state to "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."  And Philippians 4:6 reminds us "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."  When you meditate on what those words mean, it is truly powerful!

My goal for the week is to set up some kind of prayer routine, complete with a devotional & prayer journal.  Just like I set aside time for work (8 to 5) or blogging (Sundays & before bed time nightly), I need to set aside time to reflect on God's word and my personal relationship with Him.

If you don't mind me asking - do you have a prayer routine? Do you have a devotional that you would recommend?

As always, I'm here if you ever need me to pray for you!

God Bless,

SS

  1. I don't have a prayer routine and honestly I've never been very religious, nor is my family. But lately I've felt a certain connection with the Lord and His word, it has calmed me down on multiple occasions and kept me grounded here in the last few weeks where stress levels have been high. That verse is amazing for the crazy week to come, thank you for sharing it!
