First "Juicing" Experience

I never have very good photos for blog posts, and this post is no exception.  While it is something that I am trying to get better about, I am generally inspired to blog about something after I've actually experienced it, rather than experience something to blog about it.  Perhaps I will never be a professional blogger, but I strive for my posts to be genuine.

With that being said, a few weekends ago, my boyfriend flew out to California for a training.  On my way home from dropping him off at the airport, I made a little stop in Market Square.  I needed some me time, and I really wanted to see what everyone had been raving about.  Personally, I think Market Square might be my paradise.  Food trucks, fresh food, and cute shops... I couldn't ask for much more!  (Oh, and can I be the Eloise of The Oliver Hotel?)

I stopped into Just Ripe because it was 3 pm, I hadn't eaten all day, and it gave me a vibe that it's okay that I'm in there eating alone.  Feeling adventurous, I decided to try a juice!  I went with the CAB juice - Carrot, Apple, and Beet.  The juice was sweet and frothy, probably a little too sweet and frothy for my liking.  (Are all juices like this?!)  I think that next time, I'm going to get wild and try the Lemony Green juice.

While I'm on the topic of Just Ripe, if you are in the area, you MUST try one of their Dixie Biscuits!  Pimento cheese, bacon, and homemade pepper jelly on a buttermilk biscuit.  It's quite possibly the best thing that I have ever tasted.  Not nearly as healthy as the juice I had, but I think it's a nice balance ;)  And the people that work there are sooo friendly!  Really can't say enough nice things about my experience.

Now I want to hear from you - What was your first juicing experience like?!  What's your favorite combo that I should try?!  I am so intrigued by this trend.

  1. I've thought about trying a juicing cleanse after summer to clean out all the crap I've eaten all summer and help get myself back on track. I do make smoothies in the morning for breakfast though!

  2. glad you shared your juicing experience... for some reason, and maybe it's the look or the sound of the ingredients, I just can't seem to bring myself to try it, it sounds disgusting to me- but you've made me want to at least give it a shot!

  3. I didn't have my first juicing experience until I married! I am known in my family for not being a fan of fruits and vegetables, so this has never been a huge thing for me. However, we now make juices out of whatever we have in the fridge - beets, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, etc...never the same recipe! Lol.
