July Buys

Because I was moving in June and also part of a wedding party, I put myself on a "spending freeze."  I didn't really buy things besides necessities - gas, food, and toiletries.  Now that I'm seeing what I can expect my bills to look like each month, I feel a little bit safer buying some things for myself.  Here are my "approved spending" items for the month of July!

DENIM SHORTS

Every time I try to find a cute pair of denim shorts, I'm reminded that they just aren't for me.  I guess I will be sticking with the one pair that I own! Haha.  However, I think these little chambray shorts are darling, and I would feel much more comfortable in them than a pair of denim cut-offs.  Thoughts before I purchase them?

NEW DRESS

I have been lusting over this dress for the longest time, and now it's on sale and in my size(s).  The only issue is that I don't know what size to get, and I'm worried about ordering online because I don't know how it will fit.  On the plus side, I feel like I could wear it for just about any occasion, including work & weddings!

BLOGGER CARDS

I am optimistic that all of my blog branding will be finished by the end of July so that I can order some blogger cards!  I'd love to have something "hard" to give to people that I talk with about my blog.

ROUND OF GOLF FOR MY BOYFRIEND

My boyfriend has been so amazing while I've been under so much stress.  I hope to be able to treat him to a round of golf before the month ends, because he deserves it!

NEW MAKEUP
Since I have stopped spray tanning, I need to change my foundation shade up a bit.  I would also like to experiment with some new products.  Do y'all have any suggestions on the following items?
  • BB Cream
  • Navy Eyeliner
  • Brow Powder or Pencil

What are y'all planning on purchasing this month?  Any makeup suggestions for me?

  1. The Anastasia Brow Duo Powder is amazing and is buildable - I have used a lot of other products but keep going back to this one! Also, Clinique's BB and CC creams are incredible - I use the BB cream for my everyday foundation and love it!

    1. I saw that last night at Ulta... I'll have to try it out! I used to use Clinique products before I switched over to Smashbox products, so I'll have to make a trip by the makeup counter next time I'm at the mall :)

      Thanks for your suggestions!

    1. I already own the button up in the same pattern as the shorts from J. Crew, and I loved it! (It met an untimely death when there was a bleach spill in our laundry room...)

I am so excited about getting some cards! Hopefully the branding will be finished by the end of the month! Xo

  3. I use Physician's Formula BB cream every day and I love it! It's perfectly comparable to what I used to use from Sephora, and is also much cheaper.

    1. I saw that last night at Ulta, and they didn't have my shade :( I'll have to go back and check later on because I've heard SO many good things about Physician's Formula!

    1. Yesterday I saw it on a blogger that is built like I am, and it kind of deterred me from getting it. One of my petite little friends has one and looks adorable in it! I'm just so leary of ordering something like that online, because I feel like the sizing at J. Crew Factory can be a little inconsistent.

I bet we both need a new dress pretty badly ;) Xo

  5. I have that scalloped dress and it fit to my normal size, not sure if that helps!

  11. I am loving that you have "approved" spending - I need to set that up for myself. That all went out the window for me with the 4th of July sales. I use the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB and I love it!

    Please check out my blog!
